@ Alucion
Doesn't bother me, I mean your not gonna know the difference once you're dead that way. Plus, I think it makes me appreciate life a little bit more.

@Riu
No, I just have a hard time believing in something that can't be proven. If there was proof then I would probably believe in God, but since there isn't it just seems kind of hard to believe.

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
I would appreciate life either way, Ema. I guess that no matter who you are or where you are, you must do your best to...help others.
Surely, everyone will die. That can make life sound a little...reasonless, senseless. And your efforts will result in nothing bigger. But, when you look at it, the best we can do is that. Live on and help each other. Discuss things like now and develop relationships. Love to the max while you can...
That's why I love you all. XD
And that's why I'm asking a sig to Vickinator that has some sentence remarking this...or something similar.

That's the interesting basis of faith. The lack of something being able to be proven. There is something in the human nature to believe in something as a general rule, I believe. But believing just on faith alone, without proof... is very difficult.
On Mary, the exact passage is:
Luke 8:2
And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils.
The question remains though, is that and/or evil spirits and infirmities or both?
Also, I'm not one to believe every single thing I read in the Bible.
Through the hundreds and hundreds of years, it's gone through so many hands... I have a hard time grasping that the whole thing, if a Word of God... is still 100% accurate.

Who knows how many revisions good ol' King James had made to fit his monarchy, etc?

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
Well, Wunder, no one said that it was 100% accurate. But it's the one most important document "we" can base on to learn about "faith". But isn't because of this inaccuracy that we have churchs? For we to learn more in-depth what the Bible has to say and to erradicate conceptions and interpretations that are made through this inaccuracy of the Bible? Or...something? x_x

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
Um, well... there's probably more than one...
But I think there was one specific King James that had like... his priests and stuff ... make a version of the Bible.
I'd assume, since my Bible says, "Authorized King James Version"
You definitely have a point there. I've heard it said before that it's 100% accurate.
I think that that isn't the only reason that we have churches, there's something important about gathering with people that have your own belief systems and if you are religious, taking a time to just simply worship Whomever you may believe in.

Oh, right, it certainly isn't the only reason. Bible itself says how important are churches...somewhere. Don't remember the text now...
But it may be one of the reasons today, since, as you said, the Bible suffered many changes, translations and all as time passed. XD

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
Silly Riu, there isn't a wrong or right on this thread... there's simply only a place to discuss one's beliefs intellectually (on not just religion, but other things) without fear of being yelled at, etc.

Nah, it's more like a strange thing I have...my body won't stop functioning unless the sun is set. Like, right some hours ago, I was pretty sleepy. Now I'm awake because the sun is rising. x_x
I know that I will collapse when the evening's sun sets, though...or something to that effect...

I'm not sure that that's actually strange... our bodies are meant to sleep at night, after all. You get more restful sleep that way, I hear.

I am not the supreme leader of this thread.
Other people can suggest topics too.
Not reason not to have a couple going at once, either.
