Turnabout Discussion/Debate
Since it really doesn't belong in Erotic Stories.
Here's a thread to discuss different subjects, some a bit touchy, hence the guidelines I've included below.
Please try to stick by these guidelines:
√ Keep it civil.
√ Don't yell and shout. There is no need to shout in an attempt to get your point across. It's much more mature to calmly discuss your point of view and debate than yell.
√ Opinions are based not only on logical thought process on the person's part, but also are effected by culture, upbringing and religious beliefs. Though you may disagree, please try to respect others' beliefs.
Hmm, let's go ahead and discuss religion.
Or, if in the mood for a less touchy topic, psychology perhaps?
(Do you like how I use the square root sign as bullets? *giggle*)

Well (not sure if this is acurrate) apparantly, you can pray by orgasm, the moment of thoughtlessness during a man's orgasm was thought to be a moment with god.

Especially during sex, the union of the sacred feminane and masculan in sex was thought to be sacred, and the only way for a man to be spiritually whole

You can feel free to discuss your views on religion that you may have, whether you think it's ridiculous or not, etc.
Zhat is zee point, after all. Varying viewpoints and all.

Oh oh oh. That reminds me of something.
I watched a show on The History of Sex on the History channel.
And there was one religion (don't remember which one) that believed that a god and goddess (or something of the sort) had sex and that was how the world was born.
Fascinating.

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
...I don't remember that in the book. Must have gone over it accidentaly. o.o
The only thing I can think of is that this "thoughtless" stage is usually achieved through meditation or similar method...and during prayers, you shouldn't think about anything else, it is ome form of meditation, in a way.

I can definitely believe that that could be a belief in a religion.
Or you're just crazy. < - just kidding
And yes, the Da Vinci Code is fictional, though I think based on religious beliefs.
... you wouldn't believe how hard of a time I had figuring out how to spell Da Vinci...
Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
It also says that Mary Mageland (or some name like that) wasn't whore, but Jesus' wife! (Again, that part is the part I suspect is a bit embellished)

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
I normally don't believe in any of that religious stuff unless it can be proven scientifically.

Well, the book had proof, again fictional book based off truth, so may be not accurate

I actually held that belief before ever hearing it was in "The Da Vinci Code"
With the way it seems to be written, though it talks about Him casting the devils out of a whore, it doesn't necessarily specifically say that the whore was Mary Magdalene.
At least, I believe so.
Riu wrote:Well, the book had proof, again fictional book based off truth, so may be not accurate
The thing about truths behind religion, is it's all perspective and one's own beliefs that are considered truths to one person or another.
At least, most of it is.

Hum, you made such an analysis, Wunder? Not wanting to sound rude, but I'm shocked. ^^
By the way, for the record, I'm protestant...

On the Bible?
I haven't actually made the analysis myself. My mom pointed it out, but you know... now I'm pretty darned tempted to do so. *finds a Bible (which is pretty easy here)*
... I'm a Christian. >>
*namely, a specific branch that's kind of disliked...*
Ema wrote: I don't really have a religion.
I have never seen a problem with that.
If you're not religious, you can still be spiritual.
If you're not spiritual, then that's your own choice based on logic and how you feel about such things.

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
No, I'm not spiritual either, I don't believe in God or anything. I think that once you're dead, you're dead and that's all there is to it. There's no afterlife or anything.

Re: Turnabout Discussion/Debate
It's not prostrant, Riu.
It's protestant. XD
A little different from catholicism...some different beliefs and principles.
And Ema, yeah, follow your will. If you believe that you stay dead, I guess it's fair. It's the most logical way of thinking, after all. o-o
Unfortunately. The thought kinda scares me...

Yeah, me too.
Random fact, I found this in the Bible dictionary.
Mandrake. The Hebrew name denotes love fruit. The fruit had a pleasant taste and odor, and was supposed to ensure conception.
Kind of different from HP.
