Is a boy growing up in these towns called projects. He lives in the Fredrick Douglass Project where the Disciples (a gang) live. There's a nearby project that's called something else (I forget) and the Gentry Gangstas (rival gang) live there. So there's a lot of turf wars, poverty, pregnent teenagers, and fatherless kids. So the main characters joins the Disciples since his family's never got enough to eat and his best friend is a gangster and he has a ton of money. Then one of the Disciples shoots the head Disciple in order to take the head role (I'm just guessing the motive here) in the gang and the main character is trying to find out why.

I would definitely read since my summary's not that good.
