You know, the Fatality idea really made me think of something really cool... but since I suck at graphics, it probably would be hard to pull off unless I use a lot of the animation and sequences which I do know. This might make the game much darker than I imagined at first.

Also, I know what you mean, SNK. I think it's possible to do something GoW-ish and have you imput a certain command in order to pull off a killing move. A little research on the scripts make me see it, though it might be easier to go with the Fatality. I'll see what I can do.

I imagined it like when a boss is out of HP (or maybe even your basic enemy), the game asks if you wish to "finish" the enemy. Choose yes and the game ask which character will get the honor to do so. Depending on who gets to do it, you might get different bonuses, such as extra experience, more money or a rare item or equipment.

Got the inspiration from Tales of vesperia. When you preform a certain attack on an enemy, a different colored circle will appear. Press a certain button when it's on screen and you will do a "Fatal strike", which kills less enemies and damages bosses (but it's a lot wiser not to preform Fatal strikes, since you can't combo after them but whatever). Defeating an enemy this way gives you different bonuses. Only drawback is that if you don't use a fatal strike and just gets lots of those circles after each other, the rewards will stack and come in effect after you defeat the enemy anyway, so meh.

tl;dr: I think a "finishing" or "fatality" system would be sweet. But please don't make it too hard on yourself.

Ah, if one should implement like that, then the system wouldn't be hard to make. Maybe the animations would be tricky, but other than that, I think this idea is pretty workable like this.

So, what I've done so far is implement all character's battle sprites and attributes in the game. Skills are yet to come. The total number of characters, counting the THUGs and opposites, as well as some guest appearances, ranges 30. ...This will be interesting to work with...

Have you decided on the attributes for the playable characters? As in their in game statuses and such. For example, my char could have insanely high attack but low defense.

I know, NS. It's spelled both as defense and defence, or armor and armour. I just happen to use american english more often.

((As a rule, I have been averaging the person in a very simple manner: they all start like this. To increase the grade by one (example, Attack: C -> B), you decrease another stat by one grade (example, Spirit: C -> D). Spirit: Magical attack and defense boiled in a single attribute. The higher, the stronger and more magic-inclided you are.

...Do say if you think I got the stats wrong for you, or what you imagined to have. I'm working with rather generic info now, but whatever you guys might want to add, I can try to work it. Also, FYI, a B grade makes for quite a high stat. And "S" is above "A+".

Next, I should try to disclose the character's jobs... but I'm already open for suggestions of names and all.

So Spirit is like Magic attack and magic defense combined? Like the Special stat in pokemon red and blue. They later made Special attack and special defense, like how the Tales series made M.Def and M.atk instead of Intelligence.

Dunno if it's hard to split them into to, but I've always prefered M.atk and M.def over something combined. You're free to do as you please, just giving feedback.

Yay I like my stats! I always like the fast characters!
I tend to rely more on magic and defense though than physical attacks and offense.
It's up to you if you want to alter them since the game is going to have to balanced and all that. I like them either way =D

Also I've been thinking about my weapon and I think having a gun would be pretty cool (if that even works). If that doesn't work then maybe knives or something small and fast since I tend to prefer that kind of weapon over larger slower ones.

She is. Well, she has the highest damage rating, but the infinity is just there to clarify that, she's not actually impossibly strong. There is a catch to that strength. And my plot idea demanded that I had someone able to cut a mountain in half. Kind of like Frog in Chrono Trigger (though that was only one scene... >>)

Funny, I did imagine you with a gun, proof of that is the jobs which I already gave the main characters (just a temporary thing until I hear it from you guys), and you were a markswoman of sorts. ^^

Oh and I was thinking for Blackrose's stats maybe instead of infinity you could have like an S or a star so it shows that she's above the other characters, but it doesn't look quite so terrifying?

I'm happy with my stats. Are we meant to be thinking of what weapon we would like? Do they give you a list or something? Since I'm a little more physical than magical, I'd like to consider this carefully. Another day, since I'm going to bed :3 But if we don't choose then that's fine too.

About the dodging healing thing, does that mean if we try to heal ourselves it can 'miss'? And higher agility would increase the miss rate?

And you have Crouton on the list but she isn't in the first page and she doesn't have a shadow. Was that meant to happen? XD

Ah, yes, I just didn't do that at first because SNK's attack (which is the second highest in the game) was of rank S already. Though, I did change the infinity, now it's a star inside a black circle.

If you had an idea for a weapon, it would help. Of course, you can use more than a single type, but I'm trying to limit that for all characters (except Marisa: my intention was that her special trait was that she became something of a Taskmaster, and therefore could wield anything).

About dodge healing, that's exactly what I mean, NS. For some reason, the engine makes it so you can dodge a healing spell (but not an item) if it's cast on you, from friend or foe. On the plus side, that does help if you become inflicted with Zombie status or something like that... xD If I can, though, I'll change it so that heal never misses.

And I meant to show Crouton there, because she's a guest. xD She actually has a shadow, called Victual, but it won't fight. I was going to use her more for a side story in Wunder's story, but she may appear on others, if it comes to that.

...It's quite fun, messing around with this. Now, I'm in something of a dilemma for how to build the stories... I can either program events with switchs that identify the main character in order to play and appear (which will crowd the maps really bad once I get with the story of most THUGs done), or creating a new set of equal maps for each character to traverse (will use a lot more space, but will be more organized). ...Just commenting here to get the stuff out my chest, but don't worry about it. ^^"
