Maybe it was mistranslated that they met in grade school, maybe Phoenix and Larry met as babies but didn't become good friends with each other (and edgey) until School

It would remind me of my sister when she was in preschool or first grade and she was playing this tiny violin in the middle of this room full of fourth graders. XD

I remember seing this in the Contradiction place at CR. I think that the explanation was that it's just another way to say that they've known each other far as long as they can remember or something.
