The Secret World of Arrietty

It was quite good. Go see it.

The music was by some French chick named Cecile Corbel, and it's quite good.

And Spiller is very cute.

Arrietty isn't my favorite Miyazaki film, but the animation is, as usual, spectacular. Arietty's mom was the character I enjoyed watching the most. ^_^ Arietty herself is quite good, and the boy that is her potential love interest is no slouch as a character (though I felt the voice acting wasn't that good on his part. Being reserved is one thing, but being non-emotional even when the situation calls for it isn't really my cup of tea.). And the movie has some really serious stuff going on that not a lot of other kid's films have. The ending isn't as abrupt as a lot of Miyazaki films, but it still leaves you with wanting more than you get.

And that is the briefest, most spoiler-free way of reviewing the movie that I got, though I could probably take up the entire page if I really wanted to.

You certainly don't want to miss seeing it, if nothing else, for the animation.

It will never live up to Pom Poko though.
