My friend fell asleep on webcam for over an hour, it was hilarious xD She woke up and turned off the computer. But the next morning she said she didn't even notice she left MSN on? Weird.

Also, I sent you an offline message on MSN but I guess I'll ask you here. Would I need Ar Tonelico 1 to understand 2? Which should I get first if I get either?

Ar Tonelico 2 is pure genious... I'd say it's way better than 1, and you don't really need it to understand 2, but some aspects of the game are easier to catch if you had played 1 already...
But it is your decision. Might as well get 2 first and hack away. I believe you would love its battle system, it is quite different from most other games.
