Well, there's a difference between taunt and tease.

Example:
Guy: "You look like a boy."
Me: *cries*

Guy: "... uh, something here."
Me: *responds*
Guy: etc.

In Portuguese, there's only the word "Provocar", which is very similar in meaning to "Provoke", but it is also very commonly used for taunting and teasing meanings. Sorry if I didn't know the difference. x_x
But I am assuming taunting is badder. o.o
